My husband was suppose to start avastin/vpt11 about 2 months ago. His platelets were too low to start. He developed a blood clot in January and a filter was put in to prevent the clot from going to his heart or lungs. He could not have any medicine to disolve the clot because of the platelets. I have recently read that Avastin can cause clots. I wonder if my husband will ever be able to take Avastin because of the clot that was formed without ever having Avastin. Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this?
