Subject: my Father Has Bladder and Prostate Cancer

My father (62 yrs old) was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer approximately 2 months ago, after a TURPT (sp?), it was suggested for a total bladder removal with a ileal conduit replacement. Last Thursday during surgery, the doctors found also Prostate cancer. They removed his bladder, ureter, lymph nodes, prostate and urethra. Three hours after getting out of recovery, he had a blood clot near his hip, which needed more surgery to remove.

Once the pathology report came back, we found it had spread to the lymph nodes. Now the doctors are talking about chemo. The pathology report stated that his bladder cancer tumor stage was pT2b, pN1, pMX and his prostate cancer tumor stage was pT2c, pNX, pMX.

Any information offered would be much appreciated. We have just taken him home after 8 days in the hospital. Although my mother and sister are both nurses, I am the one that will turn to the internet for information and help, some of the stuff I am reading is terrifying me.
