Mom was diagnosed Stage IV lung cancer 7/10/07. Spread to both lungs, all lymph nodes and liver. She finished first 6 chemo treatments 11/20/07with 70% shrinage in the larger tumor in left lung, none in the other tumors. She has ongoing Avastin every 3 weeks since her last chemo. The past 2 weeks, the back of her hips have been bothering her. Since the Avastin only her feet have been bothering her (side effect-taking neuontrin for this) So this hip pain is brand new. She won't call doctor, thinks it's nothing. Maybe she is right?? She goes in 3/10/08 for CT to check on tumors. They gave her 12-15 months TOPS and not a candidate for surgery. Has anyone had any experience with this cancer or symptoms. Hard to ask her doctor ??'s as my brother just died Thanksgiving and mom is afraid to know anything or have us hear any bad news. I think she is doing very well, full appetite is back. Before chemo hated food. Just worried if we should call doctor about the hip pain worry in kidneys or liver causing pain??? Thanks for any advice.
My husband has lung cancer and has gone through various radiation, surgury, and chemo. He has also experienced major hip pain. The hemotologist say it is the blood booster meds they give him. It kick starts your bone marrow and causes bone pain.
When my husband first had it I wanted a bone scan to make sure it had not spread to the bones. He did end up having a scan and there was no spread to the bones at the time of the hip pain. So I was convinced it was the booster shot.
