I was diagnosed with CIN 3 in august and had a leep procedure. They had to do another one a few months later because they showed some pre cancerous cells on the margins. Right now, I am scheduled to go back for pap tests every 3 months. I have asked my doctor a lot of questions and am still unclear. I am in a loong term, monogomous relationship annd want to know wether or not this is something that my boyfriend can get rid of. I am guessing that I have had hpv for years and my body just didn't get rid of it on it's own. So, if he didn't have it before, he does now. My doctor tells me that the information is still unclear in the medical community as to whether or not you can get rid of it. I am also wonderig if I can be infected again by my partner. Does anyone have any information on this?

Did you actually look at the lab results from the LEEP with your doctor? Dis your doctor say you have mild dysplasia in the margins? Or do you actually still have CIN II or CIN III in those margins? If your doctor is not being clear, I strongly recommend a different doctor and a new biopsy before you let anyone carve you up, again. You need to be absolutely clear about what exactly is happening. I'm concerned about another LEEP not being necessary at this stage or, worse still, that the first LEEP procedure missed something altogether.

Once your boyfriend and you are infected, you can't give reinfect each other with the same virus. You could ge infected with a different strain, but not the same strain.

She told me after the first LEEP that it still showed something on the margings so they did another one to get more out. It then came back fine, so I believe that they got it all.
