Hello,
I myself have not taken Xeloda. I have a friend who is taking it and has been for about a year and has breast cancer mets to the bone and lung. Other chemos beat her up to much before this and she is doing very well on it. As far as I know she had some issues getting the dose adjusted properly and had some rashes on her hands and feet like burns. Once dose was adjusted right she is doing great. Her cancer is slowly regressing. Her lung is clear and bone sites are stable. She is happy on it.
My husband has advanced head and neck cancer and was put on it as a last ditch effort due to not tollerating other chemos. He only lasted one cycle and his platelet counts got way to low. He has had a lot of chemo and his system is to beat up to tollerate anything at this time. We don't feel the Xeloda caused it as much as he is just to weak. I myself am a Stage 4 breast cancer patient who still has an option to use Xeloda in the close future and happy to know it is there.

I have been taking Xeloda for breast cancer, and it has been great for me. I have been on it a few months. I am having some minor side effects, dry hands and funny looking toenails, but the benefits far outweigh these.
Some people cannot toletate it, and evidently it doesn't help everyone, but it has been great for me.
