I would like to know the prognosis of having this oncogene in 100% of tumor. I was estrogen positive, progesterone negative and Her 2 NU positive confirmed by FISH. Had invasive ductal cancer with two positive nodes. Surgery included a lumpectomy with node removal (13). It is difficult getting the truth from health care providers. I have had wonderful care but have been left with lots of questions. From what I read, long-term prognosis is poor. I have had 8 chemo treatments and 36 radiation.

Thanks for input

The “Her2 Support Group" at http://www.her2support.org would be worth checking out - they have information and a forum on their website.

Dee,

It sounds to me as if you are a prime candidate for Herceptin infusion. I know you have been through alot, but the usual standard of treatment is infusion once a week for 52 weeks.
Since you have had the best testing---being the FISH test, I would definately look into Herceptin. You can get more information about Herceptin at http://www.herceptin.com
I hope this will help.

Best to you,

Pam
