My dad has CUP with mets to the liver, lungs and now the brain. He was diagnosed Feb. 1, 2007. The best they could tell us is that the tumors are poorly differentiated, Neuroendocrine. Most likely it began in the lungs, but we will never know.
He benefited from Taxol and Carboplatin last spring. That decreased his tumors by 50%, but only lasted 4 months and they came back with a vengance. He can't handle Taxol anymore due to sever neuropathy. Unfortunately 4 tumors were found in his brain this week and he will begin whole brain radiation next week in addition to chemo (taxotere & Avastin).
