Up Date On My Mom

my mother's feet continue to swell and pain her.  Today I took her to the emergency room.  Before I went I did some research and found out that she could possibly have lymphedema since the swelling continues even after antibiotics.  I was disappointed with the emergency room doctors, they simply looked at her foot and said that it didn't look infected ( like last week). They told her to take motrin for the pain and keep a watch on it, if it gets worse to come back.  No test were given not even blood work. I realize that its no cure for lymphedema however couldn't they at least take some type of test to let me know at least what stage it's in?  Getting answers for pancreatic cancer seems so difficult.  Any suggestions on what I can do to help her

I understand the frustration of trying to take care of your mother
but you are doing well and by seeking help I hope you receive some from
this site.  I too would be disappointed in the care she received
at the ER.    I would call your Onocologist and take your mom
into see him/her as soon as possible.  You may have to get some
advice from the oncall Onocolgist that may call you back.  I do
remember that your mom had the Whipple surgery late last year and the
swelling may be due to that.  I did not have the Whipple so I can
not help you there.  Did your mother receive medication such as
Lasik (water pill) to rid her body of fluid?  Your mother should
be on a prescribe pain reliever not OTC.  I hope you get the help
that your mother deserve for her swollen feet.  Good luck to you.
