I have recurrent endometrial CLEAR CELL cancer. I've had chemo last June to Sept., Radiation this past March and I'm now going to try Tarceva and maybe Avastin. Is there anyone out there who has this type of Clear Cell Endometrial Cancer and where are you at in your treatment, what's helping you? Any natural form of treating this cancer working? Thanks. nancyC.

Hi Janet, Yes, I've been hoping there is someone else who has this and would love to talk with you. In 2002 I was diagnosed, had a complete hysterectomy, some microscopic cells escaped and went into my lymph nodes which was discovered June 2004. Give me a call to go from there. Thank you so much Janet. Nancy

I have been diagn. with adenocarcinoma clear cell of the uterus. I have had a hysterectomy with tubes and ovaries removed. Disection of 13 nodes. All was clear. I opted out of radiation due to side affects and after 3 months the CT, Pet and CA125 were all clear and good results. This is my first 3 month check. Still not in clear for at least 2 years. Pray for me.

I was diag. with adenocarcanoma clear cell in the uterus. I was 1B grad3 3. Cancer was found in a polyp with invasion of 2cm into myometrum muscle. Surgery TAH with tubes ovaries and fallo. tubes removed. I also had 13 nodes disection. After all was reviewed no spread outside the polyp. Nodes were clear. I am not on any hormones. That is a no, no per my doctor. 3 months check up Pet Scan, CT Scan, Visual doctor office check and CA125 all came back good. So far I am cancer free. I opted not to have radiation in the pelvic area after surgery and I am glad I did because they would have radiated for no reason. I will follow up every 3 months to see if the cancer cell ever comes back. Please tell me about your stage of cancer and your surgery and results.

Hi, In 2002 I was diagnosed with Endometrial Clear Cell cancer, had a complete hysterectomy and was told it was possible they got it all. Unfortuantely cells escaped and went to the common area, left pelvic/groin lymph nodes. In april of 2004 my metastesis began. I now have 6-8 lymph nodes with the cancer in it. It is a very uncommon cancer and there is no specific chemo that targets this type of cancer. I had chemo 6/04 to 9/04, radiation to 2 locations 4/05. Will begin radiation to my upper thigh and pelvic groin area this week and start chemo next week.(Topotekan). I've been told there's no cure for Endometrial CLEAR CELL cancer. I feel good now, just discomfort in left thigh groin area where we will begin radiation. I'm trying to get appointments at Sloan Kettering for 2nd opinions. Good luck to you! NancyC

After your hysterectomty, did they do lymphnode disections (removal of lymphnodes in pelvic area and sent to lab for testing while you were still in the operating room). They took 13 of mine and tested all came back clean. When you said they think they got it all I was not sure they did the disections. Also what stage and grade were you at the time of the operation. Finally did you have radiation shortly after the operation like in 2 to 3 months?

Hi, my mom also has clear cell endometrial cancer that has recurred. She had hysterectomy in 4/03, chemo 5/03-11/03, then radiation. Recurrence 4/05. Her cancer also came back in 2 lymph nodes. Unfortunately, one of them was in the radiated field. Doctor says no cure, but they tried 2 cycles of chemo and it is not working. She has fluid build-up in her belly and has to get it drained every 2 weeks. She seems to be getting worse with each week. She has lost alot of weight. We are now pursuing a clinical trial with lapatinib. Has your treatments been successful?
