Subject: Unexplained rash
Date: 02/27/2008
My mother is 61 and had a double mastectomy in September 2006. She completed her chemo in March 2007. She has been doing fairly well and in October of 2007 she had reconstruction surgery which was successful. She was recently diagnosed with diabetes and her levels have not been good, but not above 170. For the past 3 weeks, she has had a high fever, followed by a rash that appears only on the left side of torso and partly on the back. She's taken benadryl and it clears up. Then it occurs again, same scenerio. This is the third time that it has happened. She has been to her family doctor, and to the plastic surgeon who did the reconstruction. They are perplexed. She is taking Femara, Mobic, and Actos. Any ideas?
