Subject: Need Torisel info.-please reply
Date: 02/29/2008

My dad has been on Torisel for 7 weeks now and is feeling very good.

They told me that the first therapy lasts for 4 months. What happends after 4 months, does he has a period without receving Torisel or he needs to continue? This is very important because we have to buy it.

generally speaking Torisel should continue once a week until disease progression or toxicity.  They may just be looking to see how things are going after 4 weeks.

The most common side effects include rash, fatigue, mouth sores, nausea, swelling, and loss of appetite.

Hi there,

my dad was on Nexavar before Torisel and had bad sideefects. Now he'e on Torisel for the last 7 weeks and has poor sideefects. Sometimes he feels a little tired, he had some rash on his face but this went away the next day. Comparing it to Nexavar, this medicine is much better. Only problem is that you have to do blood test every week before the therapy to control sugar, trigliceride and holesterol so you get a pretty tired of needles, but besides that you can lead normal life and have a good quality of life. My dad had a bed pain in the chest and as he has methastsis on his hand also had a bed pain in his arm, and bad cough that obstructed his sleep, but since he started Torisel all of these disappeared.

Good luck,

   Ana

I wish you all the luck. Everyone here! My father unfortunately made it for three treatments and passed. He was too far along and too weak. Good luck everyone. This subject is very important to me. I still read up even though he's gone.
