Subject: Treatment for advanced lung cancer
Date: 02/29/2008

My brother was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer three years ago. When it was first diagnosed it had already spread to his brain - and he underwent brain surgery to remove the tumor but since it was sitting close to his motor never the tumor could not be removed.  During the last three years he has had radiation and radio therapy on the brain and radiation on the lung.  He started taking chemo last year but had such adverse reation to it that it was stopped.  However, there was a new drug called Tarceva that was prescribed.  This worked for a while but the side effects were such that it had to be stopped.

During this time he was also doing some chelation therapy - which seemed to help. He was doing relatively well until last week when he fell and broke a leg.  It was discovered that the cancer had also spread to his bones.

He is now in palliative care - the doctors are saying it is just a matter of time.  He is only 56 years old.  Does anyone know of any alternative treatment that can be used on lung cancer that had spread to the brain and bones.  At this point we are willing to try anything.

Thanks for reading this message and if you can help it will really be appreciated.

God Bless.
