Date: 03/04/2008 A doctor at Johns Hopkins recommemded "second look" surgery to me. I finished standard chemo six treatments in July 2007. I've heard this was standard treatment twenty years ago and even some younger doctors still perform it. I'd lke to hear from patients who've undergone a second look. I currently have no speific area to debulk, but was suboptimal after the initial o.c. surgery. Date: 04/16/2008 My mother has stage 4 ovarian cancer with growing tumors. Debulking has not been considered due to risks involving veins/arteries being intertwined with her 5 + tumors. I was horrified that they wouldn't just cut the tumors out- some as large as 15-18 cm, but the doc says its out of the question. Good luck with your treatment.
