We met with Doctor Anderson today.  He took out dad's staples and checked the neck and abdominal incisions and the J-Tube and said everything looks great.  He told dad he could now move from a full liquid diet to a soft diet.  He also told us that we could decrease the night feedings from 5  to 4 cans.  We need to watch dad's weight.  So far he is holding at 164.  Last night was great.  Dad had mashed potatos, soft carrots and a piece of baked fish.  Dad continues to have physical therapy nurses, occuptational therapy nurses coming over and working with dad.  We went to the mall today and dad walked for 20 minutes.  In the past weeks I have witnessed the power of prayer and support from people we have never met at this site.  Thank you to everyone.  I will continue to keep you posted about dad.  Thank you.

Steve

Hi Steve,

I haven't been on the board for a few days. I was sick with a flu-like bug or something and my Mama is in the hospital. I am hoping my Mama will be able to come home in a few days. It is not cancer related but COPD and possibly the bug that made me sick. I was very happy to see the update on your Dad. I will continue to send prayers your way. I am in awe of your Dad !!

Hi Steve,

I am so glad that things are going so well for your dad! It does my heart good to hear about EC patients that are becoming EC SURVIVORS!
