I was taken off the J-Tube on 25 Feb by the surgeon and told I will have my first CT in June, four months after surgery and at present everything looks great. I have been losing weight since stopping which I understand because of the 1250 cal. lost which is hard to make up with the small amounts of food eaten. I have been experiencing reflux the last two nights and wondered if this is common after this surgery. I will be starting on a protein drink three times a week for weight gain which consist of sixty seven grams of protein in a sixteen ounce drink and would like to know if anyone on the forum has gone this route in weight gain. I thank all of you in advance for any and all advice.  Phil A

I don't have any advice to offer. I am sure some of the others on the board with experience in this area will. I just wanted to say I am glad to see you are doing so well and I pray your CT will  give you great results ! Please keep us posted.

Unfortunately, the weight loss in the beginning is normal. You must force yourself to eat small portions and try to eat things high in calories I did not have good success with the protein drinks, they caused me to have diahrea. Now reflux is another monster. I am four years out and still have it two or three nights each couple of weeks. Once in a while I will go for 3 weeks with out suffering I take previcid and a zantac before I go to bed, of course my bed is elaveted. In the beginning I lost 37 lbs, but I have gained back 17 lbs of that. Best of luck, keep trying you can win this battle. It just seems as if it takes forever. You are in my prayers. Gerri
