Subject: Freaking out over E.C.C. - Any positive stories?

Hi,

I just had my colpo today and my doc saw some white cells in the cervical canal so he performed the E.C.C. (endocervical curettage). He said I'll have results in a week.

I am hardcore stressing over this - has anyone had results from an E.C.C. come back negative? If not, what did you do?

I am still in a bit of shock over all these recent developments (mild dysplasia and now possible pre-cancer or cancerous cells). I'm so scared. Please, if anyone has a story with a happy ending after getting an E.C.C. I would love to hear it. Or, if you had a bad result that ended OK in the long run, that would be great too!!!! Thank you!!!

My colpo is scheduled for next Monday. I am sure I will be having some of the same feelings you are going through right now. I am just taking one day at a time and keeping my faith strong. I am thankful for this message board and the folks that share their stories. It makes  me feel more at ease wtih everything.

Hi!

I know, this web site is a wonderful resource - I continue to be amazed and grateful for all the women who have posted here.

I'll do my best to email you when I get my results from today's check up and hopefully it will be good news and I'll be able to give you inspiration that it will be OK.

Like you I am also trying to just go one day at a time. As everyone else has seemed to say, the waiting is certainly the word. For me, just knowing what I am dealing with makes such a huge difference - but the not knowing what I have yet to face is just killing me.

Good luck to you and I'll be in touch - hopefully. I am brand new to this message board thing so I might forget. You can always ask though if you don't here from me. Or, after your procedure if you want to talk, let me know!!!

Advice for Monday - the procedure was fast and easy. It did feel a bit weird - not so much painful as just "dang, never felt THAT before" but it did seem on par with a very mild menstrual cramp. I took two Tylenol extra strength capsules an hour and a half before my procedure and that might have helped. Now I just feel a little lower back tightness and have super light spotting - am told that is expected.

Ok, sorry, enough rambling. (I am a professional writer and tend to get carried away with words!)

Thanks so much!

ON a side note, what type of writing do you do? A few years back, after some bad experiences in life, asd part of healing,  I picked up the paper and pen and started to write. I have written alot of different poems, some articles and such, but have never really sent any of them for publication.

Have a great day!

I had that several years ago. I opted to have the suspicious patch removed surgically rather than go through endless leap procedures.  Everything turned out fine, any suspicious cells are often labeled pre cancerous but that does not mean they will turn into cancer.
