Hi............I am a year and a half survivor of breast cancer and had reconstruction also. I feel I have been very blessed!! But like everyone it is still a concern............if it would come back again!! We all have to just keep positive and busy in life, and have God in our lives daily!!
I was a stage I and no lymph nodes involved. I was put on Arimidex first, and took it for a year, before I got tired of the all over pain in my body! And I was back to exercise............walking three to four days, weight machines (using proper weigh), but the pain presisted. Also I tried mostly to eat properly with food that my body requires to stay healthy. Then after a year on my check up with my oncologist, he was upset I went so long being misable and put me on Aromasin. Sticking to my usual routine of eating right, walking, and weights................the Aromasin made a total difference in my pain. Still had pain now and again, but not like when I was on Arimidex. I do beleive in strengthening your muscles around joints can lessen or subside the pain. I couldn't walk or climb stairs without pain for that full year on Arimidex, and the Aromasin made an difference. But exercise and eating right adds to the mix too!!! Good luck to all who fight cancer, and I will keep you in my prayer as I try to do with all that need the power of prtyer!!!! We all will keep fighting and beating this bad word......"CANCER"..........Love and prayer to all........
