Hi To Marty And Annie

Hi Karen--Thanks for writing; you are in my thoughts as well.  For quite a while now I have Annie saying her " puppy prayers" at night. Now when I tell her it's time for them, she knows to go hop on her bed.  I/we pray for all the sick dogs on this board, we pray for her vet to have guidance, we pray for those who have lost their best friends to have peace and we always end with the prayer that most of all Annie will be kept safe and well.

The prayers, the piroxicam and her doggie door have been our secret elixir! Annie turns 13 next month and I want to take her to the oncologist on her birthday.  She was only 10 when she was diagnosed and her 13th birthday was a very remote possibility.  We intend to celebrate.

Hi Karen--

Thank you so for your well wishes. The big day is the 19th and I'm planning on baking a batch of cookies and bringing them (and Annie) to the oncologist's office to make another deal with him.  When she was first diagnosed, I was begging for her to  make it until 13 and here we are.  So now I think we'll shoot for 15 or 16! 

It's unbelievable to me when I realize that Annie had lived almost 1/4 of her life with cancer; we have been blessed and lucky.

I hope things are going easier for you--you are still in our prayers.
