Ovarex Study

I was just told that I qualify to participate in this study. I read all the info and asked a million questions. I personal feel it is a win win situation for me. I am very curiuos if anyone is on the study and what your feelings are. I feel the disadvantages are overriden by the advantages. Help me to finalize my decision and go forward with the study. I was diagnosed in 12-04 with stage 3 Ovarian cancer. I feel great and have been very blessed with no real side effects to chemo. I am ready to take the next step. Thanks, Sueanne

Dear Sueanne Don’t have any information on ovarex study but wish you the best of luck. We survivors must keep together. I was diagnosed in July 2002 treated with carbo taxol for eight cycles remission for almost two years recurrence in January 2005 did 5 cycles of doxil which is keeping me stable but no remission will start on carbo taxol weekly on Wednesday since this has already worked for me and I am out so long all we can do is keep going and hope for the best there are always new improved drugs coming out so keep the faith and enjoy your life Donna

I have stage 3 ovarian cancer - I had surgery 2/04 and then I had carbo - taxol and doxil for 8 treatments. I am now on ovarex since 11/04 and thank God I am doing well. The only down side is all the cat scans that they require the first year - and then there is the fact that you never know if your getting the ovarex or a placebo. But, I also researched it and everyone agrees it is worth the risk. Even if you don't get the drug you are closely monitored and they do watch you very close. If anything should come up they will catch it very early - so for that reason alone it is well worth it. I hope you go for it. I believe it is in Phase 2 of the testing which is a good sign.
