Last Oct, I got "ASC, can't exclude HSIL" "HPV negative", so I had biopsy right away, turned out "LGSIL". 1/21/08 the pap result is "HSIL". It shocks me. Now my doc wants to do the leep on this Friday. My question is I never have HPV tested positive before (since HPV test available). Do I still have chance to get cancer? Or the biopsy and pap test too close to get the false alarm? I am 39 with two kids. Did the doctor explain how extensive the dysplasia is? (CIN II or CIN III or CIS) Is it in the endocervical canal? Are the endocervical glands involved? I think you need to get a different doctor and another biopsy before you do anything. You need to know what you have and then you need to choose a procedure that will remove all of it. (You have more than one option.) I don't know if the HPV test was a false negative or not. But I think you do deserve a doctor who is more explanatory about the condition of your dysplasia.
