Alright, so I'm 19, female, and up until August I've always had reasonably good health. In August of '07 I experienced rapid vision loss in my left eye and I lost my night vision. I went into the doctor and she told me that my prescription had changed a little bit but not enough for a new pair of glasses and she just ignored the loss of night vision and I was sent on my way. My left eye's vision improved considerably a few weeks later and I haven't had a problem with it since.

In January, however, I started getting terrible pressure behind my left eye. It was so bad that I couldn't eat, I wasn't able to move my eyes, etc etc. I'd get a terrible headache in my left occipital lobe after the pressure in my eye would start up. While I've had migraine's as long as I can remember, these headaches I've been having lately are so much different from the ones I'm used to. They never seem to go away.

Anyways, a friend convinced me to go back to the eye doctor, and I went, onlt this time I saw a different one than the one in August and he recommended that I see a neurologist.

I was able to finally get in March 5th and Dr. Johnson suggested I get an MRI. Here it is, though, the 14th already and I cannot seem to get them to set a date for the MRI. When I called them yesterday they said that Radiology had sent Dr. Johnson's request for my MRI back to his office because it was "wrong" I have no idea what that means and when I called today they said that they still didn't have an order for one. Is this normal? Do they usually wait this long and drag their feet when scheduling something that, I believe, is quite important?

I'm getting worried mostly because my "symptoms" seem to be getting a little worse each day. Every morning I get up with a terrible headache, my memory is shot: some days I can't remember where I am or how I got to a certain place. The pressure comes and goes, sometimes my hands and arms are all tingly and I can't pick up a pencil or pen to write anything because of how weak my hand is. Am I just imagining these things or is there something actually wrong with me? Every doctor I've seen keeps telling me that its only optic neuritis, but I've checked it out and I really don't think that's "all it is"

Any suggestions on what I can do about the MRI situation to speed it up? Has anyone had similar symptoms and it turned out to be nothing? Thank you much

Hi!  Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble getting a MRI. I would go to my Dr and have him order the MRI let his staff call to make the appointment then go have it done. If Dr won't do this find a new Dr
