Subject: HPV, Severe Dysplasia, hysterectomy..only 32
Date: 03/18/2008

Last March, I was Dx'd with mild CINII, but then after Colposcopy was DX'd with Severe CINIII, Made arragements to have hysterectomy for August of 07. They did find Dysplastic cells inside cervix canal after it was biopsied when removed (doc was vague about that). Had one month follow up exam..all was fine. Now 7 months later I have been having pain during "hubby and me time" and a pinching feeling that I had before the surgery. I felt the cuff where my cervix used to be and it feels like chopped meat..just like my cervix did before the surgery.

My question is..is it normal for a doc to have you wait 6 months for follow up exams. Everyone on here seems to have 3 month exams. And has anyone here been in the same boat..I.E having hysterectomy and then BAM the whole process starts again...and if so..what does a doc do if they find it in the vaginal vault or near the cuff of the cervical canal scar. I took everythig in stride before...but there seems to be nothing left to remove. Oh and I am having non fragrant discharge...."sorry, gross" that is the same color as the type I had before the surgery.

This is sooo frustrating. I am running out of web pages to stare at looking for my same problem. Anyone out there that has similar problem please reply!

Thanks a bunch

If I were you, I'd schedule an appointment as soon as possible.  The smelly discharge is not normal and you know your body better than anyone else.  If you think there is something wrong, you need to act on it right away.  Perhaps six months is the usual protocol for most patients (and their insurance companies), but you are having symptoms.  Good luck.

Definitely have that checked with your doctor.
