Swollen Lymphnodes?

Has anyone had swollen lymphnodes with their diagnoses of pancreatic cancer? My husband's is swollen in his groin . He is getting a cat scan on friday to see what's going on.

Shirl,Actually sounds very familiar! Because of pain my husband had, the dr were trying to locate the sourse of ,and it was time to have a routine colonoscopy. During the procedure there was a very tender spot that required more anesthetic. A cat scan was ordered which showed swollen lymph glands. They thought lymphoma in the beginning until the biopsy came back adenocarsinoma.

Long story- short, the cancer had spread to the lymph  glands in the pelvic area before anything was discovered. The swelling had pressed on the sciatic nerve causing pain.

A scary diagnosis-sage 4 PC, but after a year of treatment with gemzar and 5-FU his CA19-9 is now down to 8. Started out at 2350 which is relatively low, I'm told. He goes tomorrow to have another blood test to see if the remission is holding.Has your husband already been diagnlosed?

Hi Jan, Thanks for your reply. No, he hasn't been diagnosed yet. His GI doctor has ordered an ERCP because his CA 19-9 is elevated. He already has chronic pancreatitis. He has lost a significant amount of weight. He has constant back pain,  He recently became diabetic. And now he has been having tenderness in his groin. We can feel a long lump where the lymph node is.He thought it was a hernia but the surgeon said it's not. That's why he ordered the cat scan. His GI doctor said he suspects pancreatic cancer. He also said it's very hard to find. This will be my husbands third ERCP. He also gets bloodwork and MRI's every 6 months. Hopefully we'll know more by next week. It's so frustrating.

(when I don't reply for a day or 2 it is because my computer is at our store .I'm not here most Sat and no Sundays. Yesterday my husband had to go for blood work to see if the cancer is still in remission, so I was gone,next week he sees the dr  Wed and  I have a colonoscopy Thursday, an every 3 year deal now because many years ago they found precancer polyps)

I'm not familiare with ERCP-what is that? Doug never had the MRI just cat scans,1 xray when they thought the primary was the lungs because of the family history) and a bone marow test.

I will be praying for you guys i know the waiting between tests and results is very stressfull.

I completly understand, Jan. Life seems to revolve around doctor visits and pharmacies these days.

An ERCP is when they put a lit tube down his throat and they are able to look at the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, ect. They can also take a biopsy while there. It's actually called an Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography, ERCP for short.  Tommorrow he will get his Cat Scan of the pelvis.  I am so anxious!  Maybe we'll know something about the lump in his groin.

Shirl, My husband had a CT guided biopsy,because the lymph gland had to biopsied. They thought it was going to be lymphoma in the beginning, but it came back adenocarsinoma with unknown primary.

Do you know qnything about the CT scan yet?

My husband sees the dr Wed after blood tests last Wed.

Jan,

He just had the CT scan on Friday. He has his follow up appt. on Thursday so we probably wont hear anything till then. I'll post as soon as I hear something.
