Stent

My dad had a stent placed to relive a blockage, and over the last month it has leaked and had to be changed several times. He has to go tomorrow to have it re-done again (2nd time THIS WEEK). Ww are waiting for a nurse to call us back, but has anyone had this experience? does anyone know why this keeps happening?

Heard back from the nurse, and she said that this is NOT normal. It could have to do with who placed it, but since this has happened multiple times, that is seeming more unlikely. He is also very tires and weak today, barely has a voice.

My dad had a stent in his bile duct between the pancreas and the liver. His stent did not work well for him either, he had it changed 3 times, he would have massive pains in his back and stomach but once it was changed, he was 1000x better. Sometime the stent is not the correct one, his original one had an infection, his 2nd one was too short and the third one was longer and worked. It is definitely not normal for it to be changed so many times, but we encountered the same experience and were very angry. If this is where your loved ones stent is check his billiruben count so you know if the stent is not working, that shows up on the blood tests and have his checked every time he or she gets blood work.

This time they put in a metal stent, they say it is less likely to move out of place, but they think the tumor is pushing on it and knocking it out of place. We are hoping this one works, as he is in a lot of pain in that area. Ughhh...this is horrible to watch.
