Hi all

Its been two months since my husbands surgery. Everything is going great. Other than a little dumping.

My question today is my husband had stage 2 with no node. At the age of 40. The cancer doctor mentioned alot of cases in young men with chemical background coming in. I was wondering how many people on this website have sometime in there life worked at a chemical factory.

No chemical background here.  My situation took me completely by surprise, although I have battled smoking addiction off and on for 20 years.

I think more of my problem came from severe acid reflux.

My dad was 50 and totally healthy when he was diagnosed last August. He has always carried a bottle of tums with him because for as long as I can remember he has suffered from heartburn. But on top of that, we live in Fort Mcmurray Alberta Canada (which is one of the largest oil sands production sites in the world) and my dad has worked on the site for 30 years. I know that the heartburn is a huge factor in his cancer but I also can't help to think that it is also due to spending over half his life working in that plant......guess we will never really know

I believe that the chemicals that caused my EC were directly related to Agent Orange and herbicides exposure first in Guam in 1966 and then in Vietnam 1967-1968. I strongly believe and know that the government has and will continue covering this up for another forty years as displayed by our politicians not wanting to be involved in investigating this subject.  Phil
