Not sure what your doctor told you; but I am a 4-Year Post Whipple patient and I still experience some watery; or even oily stool.  Actually, I have diarreha "most" of the time.  This was explained as "just part of" post whipple behavior.  There are OTC meds to slow the process; but I have found that they make me feel "bloated" or Worse... Constipated, and the strain on the body isn't worth it.  My doctor told me that we should always KEEP things moving in the right direction, and I've found that to mean if they are Not going "down" they have a tendancy to produce the discomfort.  Just MY opinion; but based on 4+ years of actual experience.  The noises are Normal as well.

I had a whipple procedure done 4 1/2 weeks ago.  I find that after meals, I do feel bloated and get gas.  Sometimes I find myself waking up during the night with gas.  I heard this is normal, as your body and digestive system is getting used to food again.  I just learned to eat small portions and eat slow.  I have also learned about certain foods that cause cramping and gas and I have started keeping a food journal and recording foods that cause pain and gas.  Foods such as certain raw vegetables, bran, deep fried foods, pizza, pop.  But every body is different.  Hope this helps, good luck!

Hi - I had the whipple done 20 months ago and still have gas and still have diarreaha, nature of the beast...... Yes I do hear the food making it's way around, but have found (in my case) that it's calmed down somewhat.

Funny thing is, I just started taking an oral chemo (along with the iv one), Xeloda and one of the side effects is diarreaha, well, I've been going once a day on this stuff instead of 4. My oncologist doesn't believe it.....

God bless and stay strong.
