Hello everyone.

About five weeks ago I was put on Casodex and Lupron. The first four weeks were fine.....few side effects, and I wrote to this forum asking about Lupron as I thought it was't working. Well it was......in 28 days it dropped my PSA from 0.53 to 0.03.

Now I am getting the hot flashes etc......but I'm also getting abdominal cramps and am quite constipated. Do you think it could be the Lupron?

Would appreciate any comments. Thank you.

Stan.

A difficult question as we don't know anything at all about your lifestyle, which is very important.

Perhaps you can let us know more of your overall situation.

Shep:

If you go to rxlist.com there is access to all info regarding any drug you may take, including the PCa drugs, and their interactions. Reading the list of possible side effects may be alarming but most of those effects appear rarely. It can be frightening, though. GI complaints can be related to diet, anxiety, supplements, and many other non drug events.

Thanks........both to JohnW, and Thoosier.

I have an active lifestyle...play golf 3-4 times a week...but I guess the side effects from the Lupron and Casodex are catching up to me. Anxiety has been an unfortunate companion of mine all my life, and I think it is really rearing it's head now.

I can cope.

Thanks again to both of you.

Stan.

I am a Lupron recipient and I can attest that it greatly contributes to constipation as well as a myriad of other symptons.  Hot flashes are the most prevalent.  It has also caused the hair to come off the right half of my lower rt leg and the left half of my lower left leg....go figure.  I also get small itchy spots on my legs that look like ring worm but are very treatable with triple antibiotic ointment. Lupron also contributes to expanding around the middle and weight gain....you will really have to watch what you eat.  These are just a few of the side effects that I have experienced, I am sure that there are many more.  JWB.
