I was diagnosed with MGUS in Dec. of 2007; no bone lesions and M-spike only 1.0.  I am now beginning to have severe leg pains and especially at night when I'm still and can notice it more.  It wakes me up and ibuprofen nor tylenol touch the pain.  Could this be from the MGUS?

Would you describe the pain as BONE PAIN or MUSCLE PAIN?

Take care;

I would describe the pain as a deep bone pain.

Good Afternoon Sharon;

I'm not very familiar with the symptoms of MGUS, however, during my earlier Dx. with MM I recall alot of bone pain, especially in the thigh area and rib cage.

I don't think those pain relievers you're taking are going to touch the hurting. You'll need to step it up some.

Take care;

Kevin

 Sharon: Kevin is correct but as in MultipleMyeloma Mugus interferes with cell function so add 5oomgs of Magnesium with a little snack at bedtime and in the daytime is you suffer then. This helps keep potassium in the cell but does not address you pain issue but can help clarify it.Check with your doctor about pain relief.   MMS

Thanks Kevin and MM Survivor for your help.  I was wondering if my MGUS has progressed since I have the bone pain so bad?

I feel for you. I have MGUS - spike at 1.7 and was diagnosed in January.

This all started for me in October with what hit me like a bus. I had Ulnar entrapment surgery and two weeks later this strated.

 I started having tingling and pain in my feet, then tingling in the legs, then I would wake up and one leg would be numb, then some night a knee or a foot would hurt so bad it felt like it had been crushed. I had nausea, tremors, twitches, trouble swallowing, my teeth hurt....then after multiple docs, one spotted the protein.

 Now, I get pain in the feet(soles) but suddenly I get this pain in the hqnds and forearm, wrists, etc. I trie dto work out the other day and it felt like my wrist was going to crack in half. I had to stop. :-(

Richedie;

I'm so sorry that you have these symptoms and hope you can find some help.  I was also diagnosed in March 2007 with Myasthenia Gravis and I think the weakness and shortness of breath bothered me more until the pain started in my legs.  I actually had no pain until now.  I worked as an ICU nurse for 27 years and had to get disability due to the MG and miss my profession greatly.  Good Luck to you.
