The pain in your breast could also be from fibrocystic changes, which are not cancer, but can be a serious problem for a woman in terms of pain.
You should make an appt immediately with your doctor for a thorough breast exam, and if the doctor does not order mammogram, you should insist they order one, to be done as soon as possible. If you do not have insurance, call the local hospital and ask them if there is a charitable organization in your area that assists women in getting mammograms.
Do not delay. When pain does accompany breast cancer, it is quite often a late symptom. On the other hand, If the pain is resultant from fibrocystic disease, that is quite treatable, and you need not suffer from lack of information.
Good luck, and be good to yourself!
