Bone Marrow Biopsy any info will help...

Hello.

Sick for a while.

Low IgG 4 -- compromised humoral immunity.  Mild increase spleen and liver and on CBC mild lymphocytosis.  However, high T cell count (rising over the last year)  now I think it might be 5500 - 6000 (normal range is 800 - 3300).  My  first TCP PCR was done over 7 months ago and found "small T cell clones against polyclonal background"  The possible diagnosis was positive for Lymphoprolification disorder but such spikes may be seen in a reactionary.

Local Onc-Hemo wrote possible LGL...

I went to specialist for difinative dx... She tested AGAIN all the tests...

The same test was done again about 3 weeks ago.  The spike increased..and the report stated "T cell clones (the word small was not there this time) against a polyclonal background, Positive for T cell lymphoma but can be seem in reactionary conditions.  I have been tested for all autoimmune "reactionary conditions" for close to 4 years now.

So, the specialist ordered a bone marrow biopsy...  Anyone out there, can you please tell me what to expect?  I have opted for "conscious sedation" so I think I will be out (but breathing on my own).

AND... does this above sound familiar to anyone out there with rare labs and/ or other kinds of T cell problems or kinds of leukemias?

Thank-you!

Peaceful

I go tomorrow, so it you find this, and can write today, it would be great.

I don't know if this will help.   However, I had 3 BMB.   It is best to have conscience sedation in my opinion.   They can be painful and if you have a choice go for the sedation.

I am having trouble with my blood counts also.  I have been having trouble for about 5-7 years with the counts dropping.  At one time, my flow cytometry results indicate an increase of B cells and the doctors were watching for leukemia or lymphoma.   Then a couple months later another flow cytometry was done at a different institution and it came out negative for leukemia or lymphoma.   My neutrophils dropped to .7 so I started taking beta 1 3-d glucan.  I buy it from a compounding pharmacist who does not buy it from China, so the product is very pure.   It has really helped my wbc counts, my platelets even went up some.

I was told when the results are not conclusive the body is waxing and waning.   I guess what they mean by that is it is fighting whatever is causing the problem and the doctors are waiting to see what the results will be.   Sometimes it can  take years.   Maybe it is a good thing.   I know it is frustrating too, not knowing what we have.

RE: "I was told when the results are not conclusive the body is waxing and waning."

It is true.  I tell my doctors, "I feel like I am fighting something ALL the time -- like I have the bad flu..."  When I have a "good day" it feels like I am better and time means nothing to me.  I wonder... how long have I felt this way?

I "get by" most days and I am in a fog.  So when I feel a bit better, it feels like I've been well for days.  I just looked back on an email I sent to a friend 5 days ago.  I was in bed all day due to illness.  Yesterday it felt like I was well.  Again, it has been so long now, just "getting through the day" that I do not have a clear concept of time.  A good day feels like many weeks and feeling sick for six weeks feels like a day.
