Hi my name is Lisa.  I just came upon this site as I searched the internet for some kind of emotional support.  I lost my mother to pancreatic cancer 2 days after Christmas.  As I have known many people with this type of cancer and the life expectancy, my mother had a rare form and was told she would "probably die of old age".  My mother was 68.

I'm not sure what is harder on my family: the anger towards the medical profession (it's not their fault) or the shock of losing someone we all loved and miss terribly.  My mother was larger than life and very noticeably missing.  My three sisters, brother and father are having such a hard time moving forward.

Somedays, I can't stop crying.

Thanks for listening

Lisa

Lisa, I am so sorry about your mom's passing.  It is hard but especially more so when they have that "larger than life" personality as your mom did.  My husband was like that too.  You knew it when he was in the room.  He passed from stomach cancer February 22, 2008.  My family and I are having such a hard time - we miss him so.  There are days I too cannot stop crying.  I have joined a bereavement group.  The only comfort I can offer is that it's okay to grieve and cry, but one day (and I truly believe this) we will be reunited.  Until then we can only take one day at a time and cherish our memories.

Hi,

Im so very sorry for the person you have lost. This is a very big part of your life. It is so hard to let go. I lost an uncle to pancreatic cancer, a mother in law to breast cancer and a sister to a very hard loss of suicide. No matter what you must be strong and move forward. Take one day at a time. Talk to the person you lost and talk to the family members about her. The good times will eventually come though. She is looking down upon you and expecting the best from you. Dont let her down.
