Hi folks,

Thank you to all who responded to my post on "Mileage out of Avastin".  My mom was put on Avastin/CPT-11 three months ago.  Tumor shrunk significantly after two infusions.   Her MRI today showed that there was growth.  I talked to the doc about all the different options now, and he thinks that staying on Avastin but switching chemo's would be the best thing.  So we are going to go with Avastin/Carboplatin.

I would love to hear about what anyone else did when Avastin stopped working.  Please let me know. I'm scared and devastated.

Thank you,

 Sasha

I'm very sorry to hear this.  My wife was in the same situation.  Her avastin/cpt-11 worked for a couple cycles and then reccurred so she was put on avastin/carboplatin.  Unfortunately for her this combination did not work, however I did consult with a few different leading centers and they concurred that this combination was a good option.  You may want to look into scorpium venom as well.  Good luck

Hi there,

we are also in the same sinking ship on this one they tried Avastin with VP16 but the growth is back and is on the move to 2 new locations now they are trying Temodar 100 mg per day but he is so weak and his right side he keeps falling down after the steroids have worn off.  It's so devasting and such a defeated feeling all of us are going through.  I am so sorry for you and the others that posted on this topic please know I am praying for all of us.  :)

My brother also used scorpian venom.........we purchased from Mexico at $1,000 per vile, use with breathing machine, tumor has shrunk, and no side effects to this date

That's interesting.  The scorpion venom I have read about is inserted directly into the tumor bed, not inhaled.  Can you tell us more about it?

The venom must be 100% scorpian venom........a trusted family member traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico, specifically for this product. The manner in which we were instructed was to use the breathing machine. I'm not sure how the venom would be injected to the tumor (liver tumors) with out surgery.  Our belief is the cancer would spread once our brother was opened up. When air gets to the cancer it causes it to spread and turn aggressive.........hope this was helpful.........for us it was the better option to stop the growth
