Dr. Brian Durie, who is an expert on Myeloma, has been doing a series of interviews for XM satellite radio's new ReachMD station, for physicians and medical professionals.

The point he keeps stressing, over and over, is how drastically the treatment of this disease has changed over just a few short years.   It is vitally important that anyone diagnosed with it be referred to a physician who is up to date on the new treatments.

What scared me terribly when my father was diagnosed is the information about chemo success rates in scholarly papers written just three or four years ago--I didn't know how out-of-date they were.

Anyone who is or has a loved one who is newly diagnosed, please make sure you get in touch with someone who is aware of the new treatments.

Hugs to all

From Anna,

Hi again MCrow, Dad's Dr. does research on MM. He doesn't always know the up to date things. Dad has taken him many things he's gotten from an MM newsletter he gets through email.  His Dr. likes that Dad does this.

 Your friend,

Anna
