Hurthle Cell Carcinoma

On monday 4-7-08 took pill for I-131 iodine treatment. Had a rough week, nauses (sp?), headache, no appetite, can't spell, lol, achy, just all around felt rotten. Dr. said this is normal. Today, Sat. 4-12-08, feeling a little better, hope it lasts. Just want to get back to normal, whatever that is. Earlier had scan, and cancer had not spread anywhere else, so that is good. Just cancer is such a scary word, didn't think it would happen to me. Would like to hear from others. This is a great site.

HI, I'm just waiting to start my RAI on May 15.  I'm very scared of the unknown.  I had papillary multifocal cancer with hurtle cells.  Thus far, I haven't had any spread to the lymph nodes.  I have a scan done on May 8 so I guess that will really tell me.  Here, RAI is done on an outpatient basis.  However, I have a toddler at home, so I'm making some arrangements to stay elsewhere.  How was the whole RAI experience for you?
