My dear friend who turned 80 and in very good health until recently is being likely diagnosed with mesothelioma pending a more detailed pathology report (i think it could be quite advanced), a cancer due to asbestos exposure with a very poor prognosis. He is awaiting an appointment at the cancer clinic. I notice there is a clinial trial on Sutent at the cancer clinic here. Has anyone had any experience with taking this drug and what has been the outcome? Are there other new drugs that have shown to be effective for this condition? I've heard that Nexavar may also be helpful. How does one access these new drugs? He is willing to pay for them. He's located in vancouver, canada.
