I have a child with GBM-IV. Has anyone had success with Dr. Burzynski's anti-neoplastin treatment? If he had successes, why is he despised in the medical community? Is it worth a try?

I just wonder about that guy -- what he calls neoplastins are actually peptides derived from urine.  Not that that can't cure cancer -- miracle drugs have come from lots of strange sources -- but I don't think his results are THAT impressive.   If they were, then after 20+ years the FDA would approve what he's doing.  The research hasn't proven that it works.

If you look him up on quackwatch.com, you can read some of explanations for and against his approach.  At least you would be better informed about making a decision to be treated there.

God bless your family, especially your child.

They call Temodar the wonder drug for GBM. Wonder drug??? 95 % of all tumors return after 1 year anyway so it is very far from that miracle drug that we are all waiting for. People are looking in other places because medical wisdom obviously failed those of us who have lost loved ones to GBM. Just because of the severity of this disease, I would use a combo of medical and natural resources and not one without the other. I heard that this anti-neoplastin is very expensive. Research it and see if it makes sense to you.

Presently, no hospital in America including M.D.Anderson and Duke saves children with Diffuse Intrinsic Brainstem Glioma. They all die in 6-18 months.Doctor Burzynski's phase II trial for this disease produced 26 children with no symptoms at 2 years, and 6 of those 26 were alive at 5 years and presumed cured.I have the memo on his meeting with the FDA on this topic. The FDA denied his request for full approval and is presently stonewalling phase III.On July 21,2007 the FDA confirmed to me that they verified these results. In answer to your question about him being despised it is very simple. He represents a threat to the GIANT money making bonanza that is cancer treatment.Consider the following:

1--The FDA tried to throw him in prison in 1995 and failed!!

2--His process continues to have no insurance coverage thanks to the FDA.

3--Six hospitals including M.D.Anderson are right across town from his clinic.

With these roadblocks in front of him his clinic has continued to grow and treat more and more people.God will not let anything happen to Burzynski's clinic.Does everyone he treats live? No,but the ones who die are not tortured with radiation, chemotherapy, and steroids.

I am from South Africa, there is nothing the dr could do for my son after the chemo and radiation.

My son is on DrBurzynski's treatment and so are a girl we met there. If  you take in consideration that a GBM double in size every 2 weeks - since August 2007 my sons tumour showed a growth of 9% and the girls tumour shrank.

It is worth a try.  Those people who call him a quack, please let the sun shine over other people.  I think every dr who is trying to cure GBM with alternative treatment  deserves a big thank you.  Can chemo and radiation cure GBM?

The doctors gave my son 3 months to live.  We are now at our 11month.

Dr Burzynski and his staff are doing wonderfull work they are very passionate about it.  I pray that the Lord bless him and his staff and I hope the eye's of the persons at the FDA will open and approved this treatment.

Dear Cindy- Please read The Bursynski Breakthrough....Amazon has it cheap....my mother a GBM victim stage IV age 65 has even sat down and managed to muddle through it, so its not to filled with medical stuff. Children have the most success with his treatment. I have seen them on his web site.....completely back to normal lives. He is vilified in the medical community because no one in the vast CANCER INDUSTRY wants to believe some little doctor from Poland could figure out how to stop cancer better than chemo. We are saving him for our last assault.....our MRIs have shown alot of progress with Avastin, temodar and radiation trio. Look at the children stories on his Patient Support group. Good luck Cindy...I will pray for your daughter's best outcome. Sincerely, Deanna Hesford ( Mom of 3)
