I have an 11 yr old female beagle that has been diagnosed with TCC and she will not always drink water. Eating has been okay to this point and we have even started her on an IV from the vet every other day. I tried pedialite w/ water and low sodium chicken broth w/ water, but I think she knows what I'm up to and will only drink from her bowl about once a day. Is the IV enough? HELP!!!

I had to force my dog to drink water and Vit C mixed in it with a 20 cc siringe..why 20 cc it was easy to administer and fit into their mouth.

You have to be carefull not to drawn your dog . Be patient and push about 2 cc at a time.

I had also a dropper but it did not work as well as siringe.

Hope this info helps. Take care of your dog. Elisa..

I agree with Elisabeth.  Also check out Petwellbeing.com.  I have had some success with getting my kitty to eat with ES CLEAR.  Since thirst and hunger are triggered by roughly same area of brain, maybe their dog meds will help with getting your dog to drink.  They have essiac-type stuff for dogs and cats.  Try not to get discouraged.  My hopes and prayers are with you.
