I am really having a terribly hard time staying away from my youngest child (1yr).  When my husband comes home, he helps a lot, but during the day it's very hard.  It's just me and her til the older kids get home from school.  I had my RAI 131 on 4/11, stayed in isolation at home til 4/14.   I sleep alone in a separate room and use a separate bathroom.  I'm trying my hardest to keep away from my children, but it's so hard.  I don't remember what it was like when my son was a baby.  (This is my 2nd round of thyca in 7 years).

I know time will go by fast, but I don't want to harm them, especially the baby.  : (

When I had me RAI, I had a 6 mo old and a 2 yr old.  I totally understand.  I discussed the situation with my doctor, kids pediatrician and radiologist, both agreed after 4 days, I only needed to practise good hygiene and not sleep with them.  Also with lower doses the time period changes.  I don't remember what my dose was, so you should check with your doctor or even your childs pediatrician.  short periods of interaction after your isolation period is generally safe for your kids.

It's just so nerve wracking.  My dr said 20min a day max for 11 days.  Or to stay 3ft away.  It's been pretty impossible.

Thank goodness my sister in law took her today.  Plus, I'm not feeling good at all this time around.  I lost my voice and feel like I have strep throat.

I go in for my WBS today.  I hope it's clean.
