My Dear Dad lost his battle to cancer on the eve of 07April. He was surrounded by loved ones the last days of his life and passed away in his own bed in his own home as he wished with his wife and children bedside. Unfortunately my Dad was only 55years old but left very happy that he fullfilled so much in his life and will always be remembered as a good man. My Dad had Colon and Intestinal cancer which was first diagnosed in November of 2006 already in Stage 4 with a rare aggressive form called Singet Ring Cell Carcinoma.
It's so hard, I want so badly to pick up the phone and just speak with him like I've done everyday for the last year. To know I'll never walk in his home and see him again, hug him or hear his voice is so difficult to comprehend all still seems so unreal yet I knew it would come to this. I just hope in time the pain will ease up but I know I will forever have the memories and the comfort of knowing my Dad is no longer in pain.
I will close now but just wanted to add one more note first to everyone fighting the battle and your loved ones my prayers go out to you. I would also like to add that during the last few weeks and up to final days my Dad had hospice care around the clock. What a wonderful service and beautiful people it really made my Dad at ease and brought some comfort to my Step-Mom. The care is amazing and the delivery of prescriptions and pain control made this very difficult time a little more bearable.
In loving Memory of My Dad 08/29/1952- 04/07/2008
