Anyone using  Clopramine-its prescribed use is for anti depression, however this article says some brain tumor patients have had success using this med to penitrate the blood brain barrier to cut off the tumor. Could this be used in addition to Temador?

Hello everyone

I know a lot about this as I’ve researched it myself for my mother.  I tracked down the professor responsible for the discovery (Professor Pilkington -  Professor of Cellular & Molecular Neuro-oncology, Director of Research, School of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences, University of Portsmouth) and have included links here, one of which is about our famous cricketer, Alan Igglesden, who had an inoperable brain tumour and is still here 10 years later with this anti-depressant). If I can post PDFs here I have info from him on the science behind the use of tricyclic drugs such as Clomipramine & Nortriptyline in inducing programmed cell death (apoptosis) in brain tumour cells. Each tumour tends to have a variety of different cells, each of which may have a different response to the treatment agent – in the trials they witnessed some patients with a good quality of life as long term survivors when given only months.  As with all these sorts of things, there is no money in this drug it’s been around 40 years as an anti-depressant and without big money invested to run trials, these wonderful discoveries get frustratingly put on hold.  But they are there and they work and sometimes ‘anecdotal’ is enough …. Especially when it is even covered by our national TV station British Broadcasting Corporation and in our respected newspapers like The Independent etc.  I hope this helps everyone.

Dose should be worked up 25mg first 4 days, 50 mg next four etc until taking approx 125mg a day.
