Clear Mri Since October Of 07

Another clear MRI ! How great is that! My husband ( age 45)  had a total resection ( right frontal lobe) at Duke in October and has had clear MRIs ever since.  Is any one else having this good fortune ( God answering prayers)? We have one more round of avastin and CPT-11 then they are telling us that Chris will not have any more treatments and that he would be considered in remission.

 How can they tell you when you are dx 12 to 18 months to live when this can be the out come?  He was dx in May of 07, If they really don't know how long you have (really) then why put someone through that anguish. Another man was dx hear in our small town and they told him 6-12 months so he started selling his things and didn't want to go through any treatments because he though there was no hope I'm glad he called to talk to my husband now he will be going out to Duke also.

Good for you and your husband!  My wife goes to Duke and they usually use the term stable when referring to this disease.  12 months of chemo is kind of standard.  They should do a PET scan and if there are no hot spots then you can stop chemo.  That's a real high point and not everyone makes it that far.  You are fortunate.  I caution you though, that you aren't out of the woods.  You need to keep up with regular appointments and MRI's.  Don't let that dampen your enthusiasm, you and your husband have really done well!

I had total resection in October also. Right occipital lobe. Clear MRIs since. Onc said chemo for one year, then???? Keep up the good fight.

I am happy for you.  Brother was dx March 06 still doing well.  all 4 tumors gone.
