Two weeks ago my first ct-scan after radiation for tonsil cancer showed my tumor was gone. All excited until today. My ent found a "suspicous mark" underneath my tongue. It bled when he touched it. Said it could just be radiation fallout because sores take a long time to heal after radiation, or it could be much worse. Four weeks of waiting, if it is still there. They'll need to cut out a chunk for biopsy. Four weeks of worry.

Just goes to show you that for us we'll always have this fear in our minds every day. Life will never be the same.

Live every day to the fullest because you never know when bad news will come.

God bless,

Rick

Dear Rick: We can pray for you to have good news. It is so hard to suffer so much pain and also worry for the future. I see you help others so I am here to encourage you. Have you added natural supplements to your diet. Of course you will be restricted because of where your cancer is but adding coQ10, Cod liver oil of omega 3's and B vitamins and some fresh vegetable juice to the diet can help boost the immune system.  Also google epicor and read the story on it, works wonders on the immune system to boost it.  All the best and maybe it will be a very big yipee.

Thanks. Yes, I am taking Poly-mva, Xango, and an immune building vitamin pack. Plus doing Dahn healing Yoga 2 hrs every day.

Everything that can be going in is going in. Now it's up to the good Lord as to what he wants from me.

We'll see what happens in 4 weeks. I'm more down about the reality that life will be this way for a long time. Every toe ache may be something to worry about. It's hard to stay positve, but tomorrow is a new sunny day.

God bless,

Rick

I am praying for you and hope it is indeed a side effect of the radiation. My fiance is only at the very beginning of this long road, and I can imagine how disheartened you must feel, but it "ain't over til the fat lady sings," and I'm not singing! :-)

Be well and may God bless you.

Oh Rick--I am so sorry--what a mess---Cancer STINKS!!! It will be a long 4 weeks. Hopefully, with the CT, showing no tumor, it will be just a "skin thing" trying to heal.....We'll keep you in our prayers!!

Rick,

I am sorry to hear about your latest checkup.  You have been such a help to so many people on this board including me.

You have great doctors and  one of the best cancer treatment centers.  On the positive side, if there can be any such thing during times like this, with the type of excellent care that you received...doesn't it seem more likely that it is just a radiation reaction?

Stay positive, you know that each of us have different reactions to the radiation this might just be a late side effect. D.

Rick:

Cancer sucks.  This is my latest phrase for all postings.  Why?  Because it infiltrates every aspect of our lives whether we want it to or not.  On the other hand, we can chose to live our lives without it clogging our view, as I believe you do.  I'll be praying for the good news I believe will come.

Chin up, breath the air, hug the wife and live.

My best to you,

Kara

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling better today mentally. Yesterday's news really stunk. But, trying to see the postive side. I just don't know how this could be anything more than a radiation sore. It is right where the radiation hit hard every day. I don't see how a small cancer could have survived at that spot when a big ole tumor was eliminated.

I'm just going w/ it being nothing until they tell me otherwise.

p.s. Somone needs to produce CANCER SUCKS tee shirts.

Rick
