Subject: weeping scar tissue?

Hello,

My husband was diagnosed with stage 1 melanoma 4 years ago and surgery was performed (on his arm) as well as a sentinal node biopsy...nothing spread.  He was again diagnosed with melanoma on his scalp 2 years ago, nothing spread to the lymph nodes.

Just recently, his scar tissue on his arm (skin graphed) from 4 years ago began weeping clear fluid....like it was crying tears, and it didn't stop for nearly 12 hours or more.  He saw 2 doctors and they did not know the reason for this happening.  Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

I don't think I have an answer for you - but to clarify - was the entire wound site weeping, or just one single spot?

it was only one spot..the doctors said that if he poked it somehow...it should be bleeding, not weeping clear luid.  the only thing they could tell him was that if it happened again he should come back

Hmmm - I have a large scar on my knee from ACL replacement (nearly 5 years ago).  Sometimes it'll do the same thing - in one spot.  Because of the nerve damage at the scar site, I can't always tell the actual extent of the "bump" on my knee.  However, I really can't tell you if there would be a difference in tissue between a graft and scar.
