Psa

Hi all, I have not posted a question in some time but would like some opinion on my PSA.

I have had prostate cancer and kidney cancer. Surgery for kidney . and hormone treatment and High intensity ultraa sound treatment,

Biopsy of prostate in jan 07. All my scans have been clear but my PSA was 9 now down to 6.2 and staying there. Also, my Blood Urea Nitrogen is 27.

Drs do not seem concerned??Wondering if i should check further??

Feeling fine no symptoms.

Hi,

I've got trouble answering you on this one: you don't say how old you are, or if there is any sign of recurrent prostate cancer......other than your scans.

In my opinion, I don't think it should be that high.....ie. PSA, but if your Dr's don't seem concerned thats good. There are a couple of other guys that contribute to this site that are far more knowledgeable that me: perhaps they will respond.

I went to Germany in late 2005 and had High intensity ultra sound. This ssssssseemed towork well but after that i waas diagnosed ith renal cell cancer and had surgery. so far that is ok.

went to Dr yesterday and I will be having bone scan and ct scan. Praying things will be ok. PSA is a little bit more up but no symptoms.

In answer to your question I had High Intensity ultra sound in Germany at St Georges Klinik in Oct 2005. My PSA was way down then also.

but in the last year has been up to 9 and then down to 6,2 . where it is now.

Will be having ct scan and bone scan at end of May.. My Onconologist has ordered this. Will see the surgeon that operated on my kidney in July.

I am 74 and work every day running my own excavating business. so I am doing well and pray for good report. thanks for you interest. skip

Yes, you should be able to get HIFU in the USA as one of the machines is made there. Google HIFU and you should find Centres in several states.
