Complex Cyst

I recently had an ultrasound done which showed a hypoechoic complex ovarian cyst.  What exactly does this mean and should I be concerned?

I had an ultrasound 1 month before and that also showed an ovarian cyst in the same spot on my left ovary.

I have been having abdominal pain, frequent urination, and the feeling of fullness after eating. This has been going on for several months and these are daily symptoms.

Mt GYN told me to come back in a year, but I do not agree with her.  I feel that I need to get this checked out.

Thanks

HI -

With your symptoms I would rather be safe than sorry. It may just be a  cyst, but why not check further and have some peace of mind??? I can't stand docs that just fluff you off like that. Go to another doc and ask for a CA-125 and a transvaginal ultrasound.(and not next year!) I hope everything is fine with you (and it probably is). I just can't stand the thought of worrying for a year.

I agree with Diane.  Get a second opinion and the tests she suggested.  I would also insist on a CT scan as well.  Better safe than sorry.
