My mother in law who I adore was diagnosed last week with stomach cancer. Today she goes for consults on treament plans. I know this is a battle that we are in for from all the messages on the sight. I'm not sure where we stand or our next move. I'm just afraid , will this pass?

Yes, it's very normal for you to have those feelings, but time will help you feel better about the situation.  You are smart to come to a site like this for support.  It took me a couple of months to find it.  It has now been 6 months since my husband's diagnosis and I'm just getting use to the idea that he has "cancer", but like the commercial says, cancer doesn't have him.  When you are diagnosed with such a devastating illness it changes your life forever.  Do appreciate every day, every moment, because when you least expect it life is taken away.  That goes for the sick and everyone else.  My husband and I have a new found appreciation for life, love, and family.  All of our lives are in God's hands and only he knows when our time will come.  Don't stress over the future and just enjoy the present because it is a "present" from above.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thank you so much for your kind thought and answers. May God bless you. I posted a new message as to what they are going to do the 6th. I'm new to all this and still not sure that I grasp eveything they are saying. I will keep you in my prayers and keep me posted .
