We my husband and I are half-way through our journey of hell (as far as the treatments go anyways).  Made it through three weeks and three more weeks to go, though I am nervous as he starts his double radiation days next Thursday.

He is miserable, his mouth is full of sores and his tounge looks like a big red popsisicle in his mouth and his lips definately dont look like his, they look like they belong on a monkey.  Besides that we are hanging in there, he still isnt using the feeding tube to eat only to take his hydrocodone because it burns his mouth.  I really think he is trying to wait as long as possible as far as using it for food.

The good news is that I can hardly see the tumor anymore, really only when he looks straight up at the ceiling elongating his neck can I see a MUCH smaller lump.  That gives me hope that it will all be gone over the next 3 weeks especially once he starts the double fry.

Hope everyone else is doing good, TGIF!!

Brandi

half way...that is great!!!  wow..going twice a day for treatments...i hope that you live close to the cancer center.

my boyfriend had some bad sores in his mouth too...they decided it was from radiation bouncing off of  a gold crown and fillings...they gave him some sort of wax covering to help absorb some of it...seemed to help.

best to both of you...it is hell but the end is in sight.

Glad to hear he's making progress.

In three weeks, you wont believe youre done.

Both of you hang in there, the end is in sight.

Best wishes,

Mike

It's a really weired feeling. You are so focused on the job at hand it goes by fast. Then all of a sudden, just like that, you're done and you're like wow. That really did go fast.

I've been out for two months and it just seems so long ago.

Hang tough.

God bless,

Rick
