Subject: psa and treaments
Date: 05/02/2008

6 weeks after a robotoic prostatectomy a detectable PSA come back at 0.2. 7 weeks after the RP it is 0.4 and 8 weeks it s 0.44 The surgery went well but had a small positive margin.

The current plan is to with hormone therapy immediately and then when urinary and erectile functiong are improved, start externa beam therapy.

I am 53 and in good health and had a pre-biopsy psa of 3.6 that had risen sharply from before.

My doctor says he has sometimes seen these scenarios in younger me with prostate Ca.  Has anyone else heard of this and what were the treatment plans followed?
