My husband has tumour removed in the rectum and went through chemo and radiotheraphy for 6 months. That was 2nd half of Yr 2004. This May, a CT scan revealed that there are nodules in the liver and the small intestine is distended.
The oncologist suggested that the small intestine is blocked by tumours (99% sure) and there is secondary spread in the liver.
Upon surgery, was found that the distended small intestine is due to blockages in the upper part of the rectum, caused by the previous surgery.
Just how accurate is CT scan to determine that the nodules in the liver is cancer spread?
Anyone can advise?
