Recurrent Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma

Hi, A recent biopsy of a neck mass shows Large B Cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was first diagnosed in April 1999 with the same, at that time on the brain. I was able to successfully get rid of the brain mass after 2 years of chemo and then Rituxin and an herbal treatment from Mexico called Hoxsey.                                                      

Was in remission till one and a half years ago. Mass in chest was diagnosed as small B Cell follicular. Radiation, and Zevalin did get rid of that.

Now with cancer moving to the other (left) side of my body, (all previos activity has been on right side) and now being Large B Cell I am being told to do a stem cell transplant.

I do not want to because of several reasons #1 being I have done so much chemo already. #2 Do not want to get that sick.

Does any one have any other experience with other therapies than chemo, radiation or surgery. I am looking for something that will boost my immune system to beat cancer out and that will not make me sick.

Hey there Steve,

      I am so sorry to hear that this is recurring, but I want to bring you a little hope.  My husband had T cell lymphoma and our only option was a bone marrow transplant.  I can tell you a little about this process if you would like.  It sounds bad, and I am not going to tell you that there isn't some rough spots, because there definitely are, but after almost 5 years the onc we see, has told him that he would more then likely never get the lymphoma back.  I am not going to tell you that this is a quick fix and that there aren't complications with a transplant, but it might be an option.  I know that the chemo that they gave my husband wasn't as bad as what he had before transplant, and that they give you tons of prescribtion meds to combat the nausea/vomiting/weakness and other sicky issues.  If you want I can actually get him to discuss the feelings that he went through, but a lot of the month after the transplant was just sleeping and getting back your strength.  They give you tons of benedryl.  I am not sure if you have already spoken to a transplant clinic, but they can tell you more about all the options with the transplant.  They are constantly improving, many of the complications are being hit head on almost immediately after transplant.  Anyways, if you would like to talk to my husband about his transplant or anything else just post something and I will give you his contact info.  Anyways, just some things to think of.  Take care and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
